The Volterra-Detroit Foundation (VDF) set out on a mission to digitize the history of Volterra, which dates back beyond the Roman era into the ancient histories of the Etruscan era. VDF won an Epic MegaGrant from Epic Games to use the Unreal Engine back in 2020. Now, with Autodesk and Epic partnering even closer, there are so many wonderful workflows that we've used to activate all the survey data into Autodesk and Epic products. This class will focus on taking data from products like ReCap Pro, ReCap Photo, InfraWorks, Revit, and 3ds Max software into the world of Epic with products like RealityCapture, RealityScan, Twinmotion, Quixel, and the Unreal Engine. This will be an in-depth technical course that shows the picks and clicks involved in getting through some of the toughest challenges the foundation faced while digitally preserving the wonderful history of Volterra.

This foundation session will cover use of the Traffic Simulation tool to analyze traffic flow through intersections, display color-coded traffic-analysis results, and generate traffic-simulation animations to play in your model. More importantly, the Traffic Analyst panel enables you to specify advanced demand matrices, profiles, vehicle types, driver types, and other variables. This session features AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and InfraWorks 360.

This class will give you insight into RWO Associates including their history, recent projects, and typical software and workflows in use. With technical support from Cadline, they have developed a workflow that yields the best results not only for RWO Associates but for their clients as well. We'll take you through the initial project stages in InfraWorks 360 to a detailed step-by-step in Civil 3D including project constraints, project design, and highlighting the benefits of the workflow and how those benefits apply to the client. Building Information Modeling () offers opportunities to improve collaborative work and integration in the AEC industry. It is increasingly adopted in construction projects and specially in Kuwait's projects.This presentation will uncover one of the mega BIM projects in Kuwait "Kuwait International Airport Terminal 2" project. During the presentation, the attendees will see the progress of the project and how " LIMAK Insaat " which is the main contractor literally implemented BIM during the construction phase. The presentation will also show the clash detection procedures followed and what LIMAK Insaat is doing beyond 3D modeling in this magnificent project.

In this class we are going to look at how we can create and model geological data with the Geotechnical Module in AutoCAD Civil 3D software. The class will cover how to import and generate boring holes and surfaces in AutoCAD Civil 3D software, and then we'll go on to cover the essential techniques in modeling the subsurface data. The class will see how to use Feature Lines and Break Lines to mold and manipulate AutoCAD Civil 3D software surfaces to model geotechnical features. We will then learn how to convert the AutoCAD Civil 3D surfaces into AutoCAD software 3D solids ready for use in other software systems like Revit software and InfraWorks software. This class is designed to assist you in your understanding of the techniques used to model and visualize substrata in order to better understand and present information.

Road infrastructure consists of many simple elements—road signs, traffic barriers, traffic lights, and so on. Creating and placing them separately in large infrastructure projects can be very labor intensive. In this technical presentation, we’ll demonstrate how to automate the creation of an intelligent model for road infrastructure using Dynamo scripts and universal Revit families. This class will teach you how to organize a geographic information system (GIS) system of a traffic management plan in Civil 3D software and effectively transfer it to an InfraWorks model. Learn how to set up an effective link between a 2D plan and the consolidated intelligent model in accordance with the information embedded in the vector objects. We’ll also cover the creation of parametric barriers in Inventor software for InfraWorks, and how to apply parametric barriers for component roads in InfraWorks. See a demonstration of the Dynamo script that places barriers on the appropriate position in the consolidated model in accordance with the attributes of the barrier’s points from the 2D plan.

Ever wish you could visualize real-world data without leaving the comfort of your own office? Sound too wonderful to be true? Well, it isn't. Sending crews into the field to measure and collect information about assets is time consuming and costly. But when you have street-level spherical imagery and colorized LIDAR (light detection and ranging) data at hand, you have the freedom to quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively create photorealistic 3D models for planning, design, emergency and disaster management, regulatory compliance, and asset management. We'll explore the collection process and business implications for street-level reality capture and examine 2 alternatives, such as Google Street View and CycloMedia. We'll also discuss practical workflows for municipal governments using this data, including design and visualization, with a focus on water asset management and pavement surface markings. Finally, we'll describe how to effectively integrate these data sources with AutoCAD Civil 3D software and InfraWorks software.

Interest in the Internet of Things (IoT) continues to grow as governments, companies and individuals begin to realize the potential that a data-driven world has to offer. This talk explores how the construction industry can use the data it collects via tools like BIM and sensors to feed into the wider IoT agenda and the benefits this could bring. We will discuss how we can utilise the data we collect for a variety of purposes including benchmarking and continuous improvement, while also considering how we can combine our data with data sets from other sectors to create greater insights for the industry, client, and end user. Finally, we will look at how we can manage some of the challenges of being a data-driven industry including data management and storage, pain/gain share, ethical considerations, and the need to recruit staff with different skill sets.

The 2 worlds only come together after an excessive amount of swearing and hours of unnecessary time spent. But does it have to be that way? Absolutely not. Coordinating Revit software and AutoCAD Civil 3D software doesn't have to require a degree in nuclear physics, and this session will show you how. Co-presented by a Revit and an AutoCAD Civil 3D specialist, you will gain an understanding of the expectations for each platform, and learn how to configure them. Luxembourg railway owner began its digital transformation journey in 2017, improving quality and efficiency for construction projects through cloud-based project delivery. There are many main subjects for asset management, including maintenance building, earthworks platform, permanent way, overhead lines, signaling, and telecommunications. One specific aspect to the country is to have external project design offices and many subcontractors, using multidisciplinary design management based on Autodesk technologies, including Revit, Civil 3D, Inventor, InfraWorks, and Autodesk BIM Collaborate products. The geographical aspect is taken into consideration through connected building information modeling (BIM) and geographic information system (GIS). During this class, you will discover why a common data environment platform and products ecosystem save time and information for the delivery plan, and support supply chains, and how process owner mandates can be imposed on local markets, and what solutions are found to develop a business model dedicated to railway infrastructure.

Advanced building information modeling (BIM) processes require us to consider modeling with different lenses: personas interacting on a shared model extracting different BIM uses throughout the different project lifecycle stages. We'll look at the specific case of "tunnel ring segment” modeling and all the phases that have been conducted to a Revit model that is open, universal, and fully parametric so it can be used from bidding to execution and from planners to fabricators. The class will show how Bouygues Travaux Publics went from collecting users' needs to formalizing a specification and developing a Revit family and all its applications in Revit, InfraWorks, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud. We'll focus on the benefits realized with the application in a project now in the construction phase.

Many are familiar with the concept of using drones or terrestrial sensors for reality capture techniques. In this session, we will discuss how the advent of new technical advancements in imagery from satellites makes it possible to use sensors from space to develop brand-new, previously unavailable reality workflows. We're going to use satellite imagery from BlackSky satellites processed in Esri's ArcGIS Reality to create accurate scenes and 3D data sets that we can bring into InfraWorks and Civil 3D software to create an immersive product that we can use for site planning, proposals, and construction-progress monitoring. The session will start with an overview of the commercial satellite industry: We will study the different satellite constellations and explore reasons why we would pick one over the other. Then, we will show how to process satellite imagery in ArcGIS Reality. Finally, we'll show how the processed data flows into the Autodesk ecosystem and is used as authoritative data for planning.
