We'll demonstrate real-world examples where complex master-planning data sets from multiple stakeholders were integrated to build an immersive digital twin platform in Unreal Engine. Many organizations do not have standard methods of deploying AutoCAD software, and consequently spend a significant amount of time and energy trying to make sure all users are configured to company standards. Even organizations that do have some standard methodologies in place should review their practices in an effort to improve. This class is designed to assist you in building a new workflow to utilize Vault software for managing company standards within your organization. It will cover how to set up custom file categories, file lifecycles, user groups to support an innovative way of managing company standards within Vault, along with tracking any changes. We will discuss how to have AutoCAD software, Revit software, or Inventor software to look at the new working folders for updates to standards and content. Finally, we will learn how to automate deploying these changes to all users so they will always have the latest and greatest content and standards as soon as they become available.

This class shares our know-how about implementing Vault software in an infrastructure engineering company. We provide information on all stages of implementation: choosing the best document management system (DMS), as well as analysis, implementation planning and strategy, installation, system configuration, and adaptation to company needs. We discuss results of DMS system analyses and pilot projects, and we provide arguments for choosing Vault over Bentley® ProjectWise® or any other DMS system. We share Vault best practices for managing infrastructure projects and business processes. We also share experience on Vault integration into AutoCAD® Civil 3D®, AutoCAD®, AutoCAD® Map 3D, AutoCAD LT®, Microsoft® Office, and Bentley® MicroStation® software. This class will provide attendees with a detailed exploration how to use Autodesk Vault software to organize, manage, and disseminate maps stored in DWG™ files. Specifically, you will learn how Autodesk Vault can be integrated closely with AutoCAD® Map 3D software for design, production, and operational maps. We will demonstrate how Autodesk® Infrastructure Map Server software can be used in conjunction with Autodesk Vault to globally visualize the contents of the vault in geographic space. We will discuss workflows that can be configured to ensure secure access to project drawings for engineering, design, field inspections, and construction. Finally, we will explain how Autodesk Vault can complement a GIS-centric implementation that uses Oracle® Spatial or ArcIMS.

In this class participants will learn how to maximize the use of AutoCAD Map 3D software source drawings in a multiuser CAD environment. We will talk about supplying the DWG� geographic information system (GIS) CAD format for users' business needs. We will also cover the process of building source drawings from Oracle Spatial sources, and we'll discuss the distribution of source drawings across a WAN DFS system. Finally, we will cover source drawings and the mobile CAD user.

People have used Vault software primarily to manage engineering workflows and change orders and documents. For the typical architecture, engineering, and infrastructure workflows, a large component of every project consists of the development and publication of geographic information system (GIS) reports, planning maps, and detailed analysis that incorporates both construction documents and GIS files. In this class you will learn how to use Vault software in the context of AutoCAD Map 3D software, Esri's ArcGIS, Esri's ArcMap, and Esri's ArcCatalog GIS, with a simple plug-in developed with the Vault software API (application programming interface). We will demonstrate how to integrate ArcMap templates, SHP files, data connections, layers, and other GIS data sources with the Vault software to significantly improve the efficiency of the architecture, engineering, and infrastructure design process.

This class will discuss and demonstrate the concepts of using AutoCAD Utility Design software's Data Exchange (DX) functionality. Using DX, we can attach to feature data object (FDO) and industry model geographic information system (GIS) data stores to pull as-built data into an AutoCAD Utility Design project to be used as the basis for that design. DX enables us to create mappings between our external data store and the internal AutoCAD Utility Design industry model and this mapping is used when importing and exporting data. During this class we will connect to a job-enabled AutoCAD Map 3D software electric industry model, map its feature classes to our AutoCAD Utility Design feature classes, and import data. We will then edit some of those features, remove some of those features, and create new AutoCAD Utility Design features and export that data back into an AutoCAD Map 3D software job. Finally, we will look at the imported data in AutoCAD Map 3D software.
